Lukoi Dog Biographies

Elena

Elena
  • Breed: Northern Inuit
  • Sex: Bitch
  • Kennel Name: Cabales Robina
  • Register: Northern Inuit Society
  • Colour: Wolf Grey and White (with red shades)
  • Age: 9 years, 5 months

For about a year before we got Elena, we knew we wanted a Northern Inuit. Having owned a Husky in the past, we loved this kind of dog, but after hearing how NI's were more trainable and seeing how gorgeous they were, we knew we wanted one. We researched a few breeders and eventually found the kennels that were perfect for us; Cabales Northern Inuits.

Elena (or Ela as we call her) has fitted into our home perfectly. We were a little worried that our Lurcher (Cassie) might be jealous, but the two of them got on like a house on fire from day one.

Elana is such a fantastic dog. She is affectionate, loving and playful and warms our hearts. She tends to be very nervous of new people, but after she gets to know you, she is nudging your hands trying to get some attention!

Lexie

Lexie
  • Breed: Northern Inuit
  • Sex: Bitch
  • Kennel Name: Lukoi Bella's Lullaby
  • Register: Northern Inuit Society
  • Colour: Wolf Grey and White
  • Age: 5 years, 0 months

Lexie is our homebred girl from the 'Twilight' litter and from the moment she was born we knew we wanted her to stay here at Lukoi. She is bi-eyed with one yellow and one brown eye, so we often say Lexie is true mix of her two parents and depending on which side she faces she resembles one or the other.

Despite Ela being her Mum Lexie and Raina have formed an incredibly close bond and form our terrible duo. Where one is the other is sure to not be far behind, normally being involved in some mischief! Lexie has to be involved in everything and loves any form of attention, she is happiest cuddled on the sofa with us. Another activity we have discovered she loves is running so we are now taking part in a number of Canix events.

Raina

Raina
  • Breed: Northern Inuit
  • Sex: Bitch
  • Kennel Name: Mahlek Pawnee New Moon
  • Register: Northern Inuit Society
  • Colour: Silver and White
  • Age: 8 years, 0 months

After attending several NIS shows with Ela, we loved the way Northern Inuits interacted with eachother, so we were keen on taking on another one. After putting our Name down on a waiting list, we were overjoyed to hear that a litter was born. Raina was our pick!

From the moment she entered the house it was clear Raina was a very different kind of pup to Ela. She was a noisey, greedy little madame who had her own ideas about how things should be. Because of this she is often called HRH Princess Raina! However, with the help of Cassie and Ela, we soon started to teach her the rules of our household.

Raina is always on the go and constantly in everyone's business. She's an adorable, affectionate and loving little pup, but can often be more trouble than you could possibly imagine!

Cassie

Cassie
  • Breed: Lurcher
  • Sex: Bitch
  • Colour: Black and White
  • Age: 14 years, 3 months
  • Favourite Activity: Sleeping!

Cassie's history is a bit unknown to us. We got her from a Dogs Trust rehoming centre in Roden, near Shrewsbury. From what we can gather, she was transferred from a pound in Ireland where she was due to be destroyed. The Dogs Trust had her for a few weeks before we offered to give her a home. Two weeks later, she came with us.

Cassie is such a loving Dog and really loves getting attention from absolutely anyone. When we first took her to an NIS show, she was so excited by all the nice people, that she completely abandonned us for a few hours while she did the rounds, meeting and greeting (and getting fuss from) everybody.

We really couldn't wish for a gentler dog. She is fantastic, loving and loyal and she has changed our lives.

Kiska

Kiska
  • Breed: Siberian Husky
  • Sex: Bitch
  • Kennel Name: Balnaboth Polestar
  • Register: Kennel CLub
  • Colour: Black and White
  • Age: 19 years, 1 months

Rachel got Kiska from a small breeder in Doncaster just before christmas in 1998. She is a typical Siberian Husky, brainy but very independant, which can be a little frustrating at times; when asked to do anything she will first consider what's in it for her and if it's worth doing at all.

Kiska lives with Rachel's parents in their family home, as we all decided that it wouldn't be fair to take her with us when we moved house. We didn't want her to be removed from her 'pack' or from the family she had grown up with. Although she doesn't live with us, we still see Kiska on a regular basis and she has even welcomed Cassie and Elana into her life. She even enjoys attending NIS shows with us and plans to make more appearances in 2009 (yes, she can be let off lead!).

Kiska is a wonderful dog with a lot of heart, who has seen Rachel through some tough times.
